The town of the Blue Mountains created in 2001 is an amalgamation of smaller communities to form the town, it includes: Craigleith, Lora Bay, Thornbury, Clarksburg, Ravenna, Little Germany, Castle Glen, Osler, Kolapore, Gibraltar, Castle Glen, Gibralter & Swiss Meadows. Together there are about 6,453 full time residents (according to the 2011 census), with the additional part-time residents the population is actually 13,833. Named and famous for the Blue Mountains which attracts a large tourist population both daily and overnight visitors to the well know Intrawest Village of Blue Mountain.

According to some reports there may be up to 28,833 visitors a day in the Blue Mountains. With world class skiing, restaurants, shopping and accommodations Blue Mountain Resort is a major attraction, but the Town also has many outdoor activities that not only attract vacationers but actually are the reason that many people move to the area.
Three Stage and Kolapore along with Blue Mountain provide great down hill biking & hiking trails. There is also rock climbing, snowshoeing, skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, golfing and boating. After a day of action there are many great restaurants to try with menus that rival those of the GTA.
Something unique, the area is also know for is the apple pie trail. With many great apple orchards including some pick your own apple farms. Your sure to find the perfect mouth watering Apple pie (or maybe more that a few!).
